Ran across a deal today.....5 Dozen 'Grade A' Large eggs for $3.74. So, I bought the case of them. I'll break and freeze the in ziplock bags plus make a few breakfast burritos and omelettes.

Reminds me of having too many chickens and getting that many eggs a day. So we started selling them. But the eggs built up faster then people were buying them. So we started knocking on doors around the area asking people if they could possibly please use some eggs.

About 5 days worth for my family. With 4 children we go through almost a dozen a day. It helps that I have 30 or so laying hens, so we have a good steady supply.

Try 5 kids...including teenage boys. A dozen wont even get us thru breakfast. My in-laws keep us supplied with eggs so that helps a lot.

LOL I have a gal that buys 4 doz a week from me. her kids called once wanted some eggs her husband said send them to the store don't let them have the good ones.

wow, wife and I "maybe" go through a dozen a week, mostly used on weekends. during the week, it's cereal or a granola bar for breakfast.

Well, I know that 'rithmatic teaching has changed since I went to school but somehow I think that 5 dozen still equals 60.

Major surplus of eggs locally, they aren't worth anything. In Case quantities one local grocery was selling large for 30 cents a dozen.

I had 8 scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning, along with some ham and cheese on top of that and some fermented salsa my wife makes, it was a plate full and was all for me. Eggs don't last long around here, well most food doesn't.

I was in town a week ago, grade A large were 52 cents/dozen.

We have 5 hens, 4 pullets and an older hen we keep for setting. Only 2 of us and 5 eggs a day. I boil a dozen a week, eat 2 and pickle the rest. Make breakfast burritos twice a week and Sweetie bakes 3 times a week. Son takes a dozen every other week or so and we still have too many. Extras go to the free produce day on fridays....James

I read the post as well as the title but I must admit I am curious as to what type of logic you are applying to your argument, in the title of the post the man makes the following statement, ''well, I bought 5 dozen eggs today...'' No where in the ensuing post does he contradict his initial statement, in fact, he bolsters his initial statement by quoting the price of 5 dozen eggs, he goes on to say that he ''bought the case of them'' but he does not further define the case quantity. So what part of the title statement don't you understand? Maybe you should try comprehending what is written!

.........and it looks like spelling has changed, too!
