Side wall flake

How bad is a little sidewall flaking? I have some tires on a pic up that show a little flake. I would post a picture but I can't
get it to show up in the photo.

If UV light damages the surface of a tire, the material shrinks and cracks. Sometimes the surface cracks off in flakes. If this is what is happening, the tire is really unsafe to operate on the public road. Even on the farm it could be a hazard on a hill, loaded. My opinion is to get new tires. Jim
