What does the w mean in relation to the cubs?

They fly a flag with a "W" on it at the park when they win. When you pass by on the elevated train you can see how they did.

Ok. I thought that could have been for wrigley but that seemed odd.

That w has flown more in the last few years than the previous twenty combined then.
