Hey guys my 65 power shift pto dosnt stop i adjusted linkage a little inside and when i started it the pto didnt spin but then it started spinning again. Any suggestions??? I know it could possibly be the brake and that takes a double split to fix... Would like to avoid that in all ways possible!!!!!! LOl if worse comes to worse thats what we willl have to do!! Also I just installed a new rockshaft actuating cable and when i started the tractor and raised the 3 point it went up and now it wont go back down I caan jiggle it up and down a tiny bit and theres a clink insise the rockshaft!!!! Please help guys I need to get this restoration on the road!!!!!! Thanks

I just went back out and when I pull real hard on the pto lever it slows down so I think its prob linkage inside the tranny or the valve on the side of the tractor.

Those early 4020 power shifts had to small of a pin that the brake road on the fix was to drill in a different spot and drive in a new pin larger also replace the brake at the same time. Deere dealer can help with the right parts

Does this require a tractor split? Thanks for the help. Also can someone get me a complete list of components to rewire and convert my 4020 to 12 volt? I plan to use the nippindenso starter and for some reason the previous owner already riged upp some deal with a 12 volt delco alternator. Thanks a lot every one fro your help.

Did you check to be sure nut(key 32) is tight. This nut has a history of getting loose causing lose of control of pto valve.
