4020 paint romoval

How would you guys remove paint from all the cast iron without using chemicals? Ill sandblast wheels and that sort f thing but for the transmission and engine block.

if i9t were mine I would NEVER SANDBLAST A TRACTOR ENGINE TRANNY ECT ,,. only tin far away from the sandblaster ,.. all tractors I have been around have very good cast paint ,,.. no need to remove ,, I simply steam jenny and repaint,.

Fully agreed 01gentdc!!! I will not blast the engine or tranny. Im talking about blasting sheet metal rims and wheel centers and you better beleive it will be a long ways away from the tractor! That sand can get wikl get down where the sun dont shine and screw up everything till its dying day!!!!!!!!

(quoted from post at 11:08:01 10/20/16) Pneumatic needle scaler would be my first choice. Tony

Yes. the needle scaler is what I have used. It does not remove the paint from deep down in the pores, but what little paint remains doesn't bother anything. Just apply the new paint over the top.

(quoted from post at 01:14:03 10/21/16) Ok all you guys listen up!!! I just posted another thread so check it out and see if you can please help me!!!! Thanks!!

We used soda on the engine and transmission when I redid a WD-45. 3 years later and no issues.
