Bottom dump lube

What do you guys use for lube on bottom dump
gravity box doors? I used some white lithium
grease when we did wheat, it helped. (1st
time using them) wondering if there's
anything better.

It might take a few hours of work to get it done right. Take the door out and clean it and the slides shiny and smooth. Look for any warpage of the slides and door that makes the door bind. Some kind of dry lube like graphite works for awhile. Make sure the crank mechanism is free enough to crank easy under full load. It seems like I am the one who gets stuck with this job on the semi trailers every fall.

Molybdenum disulfide is what you need to use. This is what we used in the Air Force for missile launcher rails. Works great on anything that is metal to metal. Once you get it cleaned well keep it coated with this.

After you have the rails cleaned, Spray on some Spray Graphite..It will dry immediately and stay where you put it..(goes on like Paint).

Find it at TSC..I think it is labeled as a spray to help grain Slide down easier..Useful on Many chains also.
