Working on an 00 K2500 duramax with a batt draw. Pulled every single fuse and unplugged the alternator and still drawing. Has a flashing security light on dash but key and ign work fine-starts up ok. Find quite a bit about passlock system on net and many issues and BCM also. Any experts out there?

Put a multi meter on it see how much a draw in milamps. pull fuses one at time till draw goes down when found see what all is on that circut. could be something as stupid as a seat module

(quoted from post at 18:16:59 10/06/16) My 96 it was the radio, the display was stating on when the key was off.

My old shop's '97 was the same, radio memory circuit was the culprit.

Can't be a '00 Duramax, they didn't come out till '01. If it is a Duramax, the glow plug relay is likely stuck on. Takes a heck of a draw to kill dual batteries very fast at all. Other option is one bad battery.

How are you testing for the draw?

The old "watch for a spark" or a test light in series won't work with the new electronics.

The only reliable test is with an amp meter. The system needs a real connection for everything to charge up and drop out, may take a few minutes for that to happen.

If the load doesn't completely go away, you can use the amp draw to calculate how long it would take to discharge the batteries. If the numbers don't add up, that leaves the batteries to blame.

I have worked at a Chevy dealership for 13 years, couple of common battery draws-if it has on-star, pull the on-star fuse and see if draw goes away! 2nd, mice love to build nests under fuse box located on under hood drivers side. Pull the grey handles up carefully and remove the fuse block and clean out any mouse doo doo and urine! Be very careful with the removal and install of fuse block not to damage terminals. If mice have been in there the urine will cause a draw! We have seen vehicles in the shop with no evidence of mice be full under fuse block!

I never did like a Dodge, but that is my opinion. I've owned Fords, and now I own Chevys. Never had any real issues with any of them. I almost bought a Dodge dually one time. The price and everything else was right, but I just couldn't make myself do it. Bought a Chevy instead.

Anytime Nutty, just remember some of the late 70's ford pickups, box sides would rust out and the top of the box was the same height as the floor and there wasn't a dodge that the tailgate was still on.
