Justice Dept. files civil antitrust lawsuit to block Deere f

Deere wants to buy Precision Planting which makes high speed precision equipment. The DOJ contends the two companies account for 86% of the high speed precision
planting market. Both companies are going to fight the lawsuit. Precision Planting is a subsidiary of Monsanto.

I'm not at all familiar with modern planters and don't know much about older ones, but I'm well aware of the need for speed. That led me to buy a 9 foot disc mower to replace a 7 foot 10 inch one.

It will be interesting to see if the federales file suit to block the "merger" of Bayer and Montsanto.

So far, I've heard not a peep but they seem unable to keep their hands off of anything.
