15 year old grandson stole my tapes, player, albums and complete stereo system. At least he plays good music! Had had to reglue the felt piece on a couple cassettes and knows the pencil trick. Even took one of the cracked tapes and put it in a different cassette that had screws to hold it together.

Actually this one is wrong. Who ever drew it didn't understand already! You had to use the BIC pen with the blue top. A pencil is a little too lose. You could also take the cassette and pen and spin it like a towel over your head to go from A to B side. You could rewind it almost as fast as the player with a little practice.

I had an 8 track am/fm in a car once and all of a sudden I couldn't change channels. I held the 8 track door open and looked in with a flashlight. There was a string in there that had broke and I fished both pieces out the door. I could pull one string to got the left and the other to go back to the right. I did that for along time until the string broke off again!

I still have all formats. Eight tracks last a whole lot longer than CD's do!

Also the superior dynamic range of CD's is pointless when you're sitting on top of a pair of 3" Flowmasters.
