I got an old Long 1200 Backhoe attachment for my 430 I put a pressure gauge on the high side it only read 1000 psi. First did I do the test right and do you think a long pto pump can be rebuilt manual says it should have 10 gpm relief is 2500 on swing 2000 every thing else, another thing is if I raise rpm pump gets hot I understand that could be an internal leak

I have the same hoe and my pump runs hot also, all hydraulic pumps I've been around run hot, just the nature of the beast. can't help you on the pressure as I don't have a gauge but mines got all kinds of power.

It is doubtful that Long would have built it. A very careful inspection may reveal markings or even a plate with go to information.

For what it is worth my Wood's 7500 back hoe runs at 2000 PSI with its own relief valve. The 2600 Ford it is currently on is set internally for 2000 PSI. The tractor engine speed is set at about 1600 RPM and delivers about 8 GPM.
