After watching the corn harvesting video you posted, I got to wondering about the size corn heads some of the bigger guys around here use. From what I understand the biggest guy around here has at least one chopper with a 12 row head. Most of the bigger guys here are using at least 8 row heads. Lot of Claus units with a several JD's and a NH or two thrown in for variety.
 
It's mostly 75 - 100 cow dairy's around me, so I've only recently started noticing custom chopping. Most look to take about 6 to 8 rows. Last week they came and did one guy's whole farm in a day - pretty impressive

Pete, Down the road from where I farmed in Treadwell is Mountain Dew farm and they do custom harvesting. They are working at Tauzel farm now and have chopped for other farms in the Schenevus area. I think its great that he's trying to keep his farm going by being diversified because Chris and his family are hard workers! They also have pulling tractors with YouTube video's. Reborn Binder is Chris's super stock tractor and The Bandit is his dad Bob's multi engine modified tractor.
