I can't seem to find the DC mark on the housing of the tractor. There is a couple of marks to the left of the fly wheel, looking from the front. anyone have a photo?

Can you get it started? If not get a good charge on your battery. While cranking rotate the distributor till it hits. If it will crank skip the first step.

Get it running and then turn the dist ccw till it coughs. Turn it cw till it coughs. Set it in the middle, or a tad fast if you don't have pre-ignition
problems under heavy load. That's the way I did it when I didn't have anything to go by.

If you look at the left side of the motor there is a round plug where the motor bolts to the bell housing. Remove the plug. The timing marks are on the flywheel. If the motor has been replaced with a motor from a TE-20 the timing marks are on the crank pulley. I have seen that before.
