Chainsaw Vent and gas line

I have a Husqvarna 36 that is shown in this schematic as items 21 and 22:

The vent is like a porous brassy thing. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove it. It is in there tight.

Also, when I replace the gas line, I assume I should use some sort of sealant where it leaves the gas body. What sealant do you recommend?

Thanks

When I put a new line on one of my Jonsereds I cut the line at an angle and hooked a small wire through a small hole in the long end of the line. Then I greased the line well and pulled it through the hole from the inside out. have the filter on the end before you pull it into the tank. I have done this on a couple of saws, the line fits tight enough that no sealant is necessary. Be careful not to pull it too far. I think the newer Husqvarnas are the same as Jonsereds.

I think you are right. the line definitely want to pull from the tank when I removed it. It certainly did not want to go the other way.

The tank vent, I've never tried to get one out, guess it could be punched through or drilled out.

I think I would just try cleaning it with some spray carb cleaner and blowing it out. Might be a safer alternative.

IIRC it's just a press fit. The fuel line hardens over time and makes it a bear to get out. pull the newline in from the tank and attache the vent outside, then push back into hole. A little lube helps.
