Work boots/shoes for shop

This has been on here before but maybe time for update. I have high arches and I seem to have more and more difficulty finding work boots that work for me. I always have to add additional arch supports. What might be a good set of work boots that come with good arch support. My wife mentioned Keen. This is a new brand to me. Regardless, any recommendations? After a day working in the shop my knees and legs seem to hurt more and more at night. Paul

I can't wear typical "work" shoes in the shop any more. They all seem to have such a tall heel, I feel like I must be wearing high heels. I wear short little regular shoes with an arch support, to take pressure off my heels. Biggest problem I have is when torch cutting. Had a red hot blob go right in one of these shoes, stick, and burn a few weeks back. I put my "work" shoes on for a little while!

I have inner soles in my Keens. I have decided after a year that my Keens are junk. They are just plain falling apart.

My Danner's seem to hold up well, but I have to wear inserts too. However if they are insulated and my feet get hot then it's all pain later that day and the next.

I wear Carolina logger boots. After $500.00 at the foot Doctor for arch supports I started looking for shoes that had a decent arch. Red Wings,Danners,Wal mart,I have bought them all. I am on the forth pair of the logger boots,$125.00 and I can get a year out of them(Danners lasted 6 months)

I wear Keens or nothing at all. I am on my second year with a pair of Keen work boots, still in good shape. Most other brand of work boots I can wear out in a matter of months. The only Keen shoes that I wasn't satisfied with was a pair of high top hiking boots. They only lasted a year.

I'm on my feet nearly all day, every day. I used to wear the Wolverine Durashock boots, but it got to where they weren't lasting even a year before the sole split.

I was told that a handful of companies now own all of the brands, so they now design strictly for comfort, and to heck with the life expectancy. In other words, if you dump one brand, more than likely you'll buy another brand they own also. So, they lose nothing, but you continue to buy their products, regardless of the name, in the search to find a good quality boot.

Several years agO I started wearing the Redwing 9" loggers. They are comfortable, and so far have lasted something like two years. Other than some wear on the sole, (and they can be resoled)they are as good as new. I'm actually planning to buy a new pair soon, and get the old ones repaired.

I have been to several different podiatrists, and they all say they can provide me painless comfort.
None have.
I now wear for everyday use Ariat H2O boots and love them.
They are not soft and squishy, they are not orthotics. But they are just a very good comfortable light boot.
For steel toe cap boots at work I wear Steel Blues. They are a very good boot for me.

What brand do you buy Gary? my feet have been a disaster for years. Very high arch. I cannot find comfortable boots anymore since they are are made cheaply.

They're Timberland Boots I get them at Dick's Sporting Goods got my last pair online as the store didn't have my size.I've found buying wide sizes helps and not lacing tight across the bridge of my foot help too.

Wow, thanks for all the great comments. This gives me a couple brands I want to look at. I have been wearing Merrells but I think they are not the shoe they used to be since they moved to China. Thanks again.

I got some Ecco's and yes I added arch supports. I tried some Keen's. While my wife loves them they did not feel good on my feet. One of the more knowledgeable shoe store owners said they tend to fit better on people with wider feet.

I have had some Ecco's many years ago, they were good. So, we will see if they help.

Thanks.

I've had good luck with Carolina boots, the ones made in USA. I don't know about the arch, but they are comfortable and seem to last. The store that I used to buy them from no longer handles them so I ordered the last two pairs on line at American Made Boots.com For Carolina Boots it's best to call them as they can't give their best price on line. They have other brand American made boots too.
