What's it worth Farmall F-20?

Discovered what i believe is an Farmall F-20 setting in the weeds and trees. I can tell all 4 wheels and rims are shot and some of the tin, but the good thing is that the engine looks complete. Carb and all. I am sure it may be frozen up as there is nothing over the exhaust. Wondering if it would be worth while to haul out if I can make a good enough offer. Will try and get the photos uploaded later.

Probably not much, scrap price, even if it is complete. I feel that the ball bearing mains on those engines don't handle setting out for long periods of time, the moisture and condensation in the air will most likely cause them to rust and pit. So it's probably only worth $250 if it has enough good parts to sell off it, or $150 maybe.

Do you know if it has a flat belt for the fan pulley or a V belt? If it's a late model with a v belt fan drive the head on that engine is a little harder to find. The fan mounts on the front of the head by three bolts instead of pivoting on a stub shaft. The older heads, which is most of them, don't have those three bolt holes.

Hope the pics load

(quoted from post at 16:54:48 09/11/16) In one of the pic's it shows a V belt, could be an early frame with a later engine.
Castleated steering gear housing, variable speed governor, flat steel tank supports. I would put it as a 37, can't see any foot brakes or other 38/39 equipment.

A week ago at collectors auction a unpainted running 37 brought $800, a painted, loose non running 36 brought $700. Scrap price plus 10% is a fair value.

The tin cover is still on the mag drive coupler area and the mag looks good on the outside meaning not beat up. Even though the tractor looks pretty tough someone has taken good care of it. Can't tell if the manifold is broken. Might be a diamond in the rough but I wouldn't count on it. I paid $275 for a very late F20 that was stored inside and looked pretty good. I remember seeing this tractor being used to farm with. When I got into the engine the head was cracked, and manifold broken. Someone had beat the crap out of the mag in the impulse area. The Pistons were over bore and high compression aluminum but impossibly stuck. Outward looks doesn't tell you much.

rustyacresSD,

In case this helps you to determine a value for the F-20 you are looking at... this old, bare-bones F-20 just brought $80 at an auction in MN one week ago (and she's MISSING a lot more than SHE'S GOT!).

We did not examine it closely to see what kind of shape the rims or gas tank might be in.
