The musical comedy duo form years ago?? They still crack me up. Hank Williams was one of there biggest victims!!!

Never heard them on the radio but Dad had a couple records that we listened to as kids. Still can sing some of their song parodies.

Mom and Dad had their records. They were to appear at our county Fair but show was cancelled due to the death of one of them, don't remember which one. 40ish years ago.

I remember listening to them on Saturday nights on the WLS Barn Dance in the 40's and 50's.
WLS was owned by Sears and stood for World's Largest Store. The Barn Dance was on par with the Opry, the Louisiana Hayride, and the Arkansas Jubilee.

Wife's aunt ran away from home with a local and was on WLS some. There was a lot of talent on saturday nights. Later years in my running around begining, I listened to WSM for country and WLAC for the blues. The drinking days before 21.

"Do you remember Grandma's lye soap, good for everything in the home.

And the secret was in the scrubbing, wouldn't suds and couldn't foam"..

:D

I grew up listening to WLS national barn dance every Sat. night. back in the 40's & 50's. Homer & Jethro could make you laugh more than anyone. Another one of my favorites was Donald Red Blanchard.
