Wonderful DAY!!!!

I am setting here listening to the grand kids run around playing in the yard. The weather is PERFECT!!! 70ish and low humidity. Light breeze from the south just drifting in through the window screens. My sons working on a friend's car in the shop. The women setting in the kitchen having woman talk. LOL I feel this is one of the good "TIMES" we all talk about. Nothing planned, just a regular lazy Sunday afternoon being together. That is special in today's hectic world. Hundreds of things to do but not one of them important enough for me to do now.

P.S.Daughter had false labor last night. Doc says baby is close. Little girl they say. This will be her first. Her and her husband are grateful to be out of St. Louis and closer to family. I do think the country is the best place to raise a family. Lots of things are simpler.
 
In years past you've posted similar, when the conditions were like this, perfect weather, Sunday and just taking it easy. Your description paints a vivid picture ! I can recall the previous, but being envious as it was hot & humid here. Looked on the weather maps and could see Iowa was cool and dry, and it would be a day or two before it came our way. You are correct, country life does not compare. I've got my own little piece of it still, but am surrounded by the less simple suburbia. I think all the way back of my close to 50 years of being here, the changes are astounding. The smart side of me says to find a way to tap into the heavy traffic through here now, given the $$ that pass by daily.

The weather is the same here, down in the 50's this morning, house nice and cool, dry air. I'm hoping to get out there in a little while and start finishing my field work, moving logs and or mowing. Pesky little electrical problem holding me up, but I think I've got it solved, just have to take some readings now.
 
Congrats JD. Happy for you all. Took my first son to college last week, mechanical engineering at MO S&T, sophomore. Second son and I are going cycling tomorrow, first thing while cool .
 
Yeah. Jeff's younger daughter is cheerleading Pop Warner football this year, just got home from the game. Headed back to our camp ground shortly for supper with oldest son and family.
 
Brother and I met in Anamosa, went on motorcycle ride, had lunch in Stone City, then up to Anamosa to see white water river.

Yes, beautiful day here.
 
Yes similar weather here, hiking with family in the Smokey Mountains of Tn for a couple days.
 
Great day here also. Delivered a cab high load of firewood with my Dodge 1500 PU this morning , to pay a debt, and went back to the woods after that and split and loaded another cord+ of wood onto my dump trailer for my winter supply,
No get it done schedule, just make a load by the end of the day. Took a noon time break with a sandwitch and sat back and "smelled the roses", plus a couple of barley pop[ breaks, before the trailer was totally loaded.
Temps in low 70s and not a cloud in the sky. Was a wonderful great day for me.
