98 ford f150 window relay location

I have an F150 manufacturing date is 10-98. The wipers and power
with does won't work.

I called the Ford dealer. They can't tell me where the relay is
located.

There are three relays in the box under the hood and two in the
fuse box under the dash.

Anyone know which relay it is?

You'll have to come up with an owners manual or repair manual or find someone who has either one to get a location.A library may have a repair manual.

I don't know if it's worth $24.95 to you, but if it is you can get a year's subscription to basically the factory shop manual at
https://www.alldatadiy.com/.

They are WAY more complete than a "Haynes" or similar printed DIY manual, with component locations, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting info, and you can print out and keep whatever info you need.

On the other hand, though, "relays" would not be at the top of my list as to what to check if both wipes and windows don't work.

MUCH more likely it's a blown or missing fuse(s) or possibly a fusible ink, or in the case of the door looks, broken wires.

Hello tractorguy2,

Just do a search for the owner's manual, free online. It will show the fuse box and the circuits. Wiper circuit has a separate circuit, so you have two issues,

Guido.

I believe you have a GEM module on that one which handles those functions. Its mounted above the fuse box on the drivers side, hard to get to. They used to get water intrusion and corrosion in them from poorly sealing windshield.

Your windshield leaks and has ruined the GEM module. The GEM module controls wipers, windows, locks, automatic lighting functions, interior lights, and the front axle engagement solenoids on 4wds. Step one is to get the windshield resealed, then remove the interior fuse block and split the GEM off of it. Open up the case and see how bad the corrosion is. If it's not too bad, a bath in electronic cleaner may bring it back. Not out anything to try. If that does not work, it will need to be replaced. It has to be programmed to your option content by a Ford dealer. Most of the Ford trucks I work on have something inop due to the GEM.

The GEM module controls the relay that powers the window switch. This relay is serviceable so you can swap it or replace it to to see if its bad. It is the accessory delay relay.

You are looking for one of three bigger square shaped relays in the fuse box under dash. Its the only big relay in a corner of the fuse box, the other corners have fuses or a smaller relay. Like mentioned the GEM module has known to fail and usually from water intrusion. The fuse box can be removed and the GEM module is piggy-backed on the fuse box. A gem from another truck can be swapped as long as the option content is the same, or swapped for diag purposes if you want.
