For those of you who put on shows or manage web sites, please put a street address for your show on web sites and promoyional literature so those who travel from afar can find the show by putting an address in their GPS

And..... if the location does not have an address, give the GPS coordinates for the entry gate. Sure would help a bunch.

Thanks in advance,

Larry

ALL locations would have a street address. And I only can use paper maps, do not hafe a GPS, never will. Nor a so called smart phone, phone only makes and recieves calls, nothing extra. A lot of the places do not even inculde what state they are in let alone a location, think they don't want anyone to show up so they can say they tried to have a show and it failed so we will be good to forget about having a show and the ones that actually did the work for the show will be hurting.

Thank you for bringing this up. So many times when I get on a show website I have to search forever to find a location. Sometimes I don't even know what state this show is in let alone the address. At the very least the town and state should be on the front page, not buried in a link to contact information. My side rant is concluded! LOL

Now Leroy.................... how could you possibly know that all locations have a street address?????????????

I just fired off a friendly email to a show suggesting they put a little state map with a marker in the show location on the front page of their website. When a show does not splash their location on the front page I get the idea they are a little local show that is not interested in reaching out for attendees.

Maybe they are, and there's nothing wrong with that. Not everybody wants a huge show. When it gets too big it becomes more work than the few volunteers can handle. It always seems like the majority of the club is always in favor of having these events, but when you ask them to help out, they've got a million other better things to do that weekend.

Barnyard you are partly right. I was a very active director at a threshing show for 23 or so years and yes, there are only a few ambitious ones who carry out the wishes of the majority who want a big fancy show but the majority sure are vocal if the active ones don't do something exactly right. I am so glad I am not trying to recruit workers anymore. It takes more dedication than most realize to be a good board member. Sometimes an organization is run by a tight little circle of members who won't let the new Guy's ideas be considered.
