what's for dinner?

Just finished two tomato sandwiches with garden tomatoes and Hellman's mayo. My last jar of Hellman's as it has reached $5.99 a jar. Come on,eggs oil and spices? Why is it so expensive?

Sweet corn, nothing but sweet corn, polished off about a dozen between the two of us. Doesn't get any better than that in the summer.

I just had a wrap filled with ground venison and garden veggies, I use homemade yogurt/cucumber/ranch dressing instead of Mayo. We also make our own Miracle Whip, very easy....James

I just made a batch of Mayonnaise today and since it's so easy to make, I don't know why anyone would buy it. Like you said, a couple of eggs, oil, salt, vinegar and some spices and you have mayonnaise in 5 minutes. For anyone who doesn't know how, just go to YouTube and see how easy it is to make your own. Once you make your own you'll never buy it at the store..

Friends of ours invited us over for dinner tonight. Grilled steak, coleslaw, cheesy potatoes, and layered chocolate cake with ice cream for desert. It was all excellent!!!!

Went to freezer got out a package of liver and cooked liver, onions, fried potatoes and garden tomatoes. Have a beef butcher off and on for the kids, but they won't take the liver.

Safeway is our closest store and they will slowly increase the price until its crazy. Then it's two for one "special". Then Hellmans goes back to 3.99. They do this on lots of staples. We end up buying more when its on sale, so I guess we're just encouraging them.

I dunno what Hellman's recipe is, but it sure isn't a favorite around our 'spread'. Mrs. Clark's or even Kraft has Hellman's beat, for sure.

Cannot stand Hellmans, use other brands but not Hellmans, would not carry it home for it to just dump it out for the jar.
