massey ferguson 1650 garden tractor

i have a issue with my 1650 need a liitle help. my electric clutch doesnt engage at all anymore . it was working while mowing but would just shut off while mowing, now will not kick in at all. i have checked the power to the clucth to make sure the switch is working and the power is getting to the clutch. any sugestions? where to find a new one?? a part number?

as they are a 2 wire plug one is power the other is ground
as you have power to it
is it grounding
if that checks out test for continuity through the clucth
might need to replace it

Here's the page from the AGCO parts book showing the clutch. It is available as pieces or the whole thing. If you google these part numbers you can find other on-
line retailers. They are not cheap parts so you'll want to do thorough testing with what you have
to make sure you don't have some other issue.

Some have an air gap adjustment. If it's too wide, the magnet won't pull the clutch in. But, that doesn't explain it quitting while it was already engaged...

Might check the coil with an ohm meter, see if there is an open winding. If so, then it will need to be replaced.

When you get it off, take a look at how it's made, the shaft size, pulley diameter and location, etc. There are aftermarket replacements on Ebay, could save a bunch over the dealer.

I have had electrical things like switches / contacts / sliding parts start to operate again, simply by dousing everything in PB Blaster and working them back and forth. The stuff removes moisture, removes corrosion, lubricates, makes things slide, works for me on almost every electrical item I have.
