Haybine (New Holland) 116 knife timing Problem

Hi,

I have an old NH 116 haybine and am wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the knife timing, which seems to be out of sync. Not sure where to start! Anyone ever deal with this issue? Thanks.

I never had one of those but I mowed with a Moco for a number of years and never had need to time my knife to anything.

If it is drove like a 499 the 2 gearboxes are connected to each other by a hex shaft under the cutter head. The only way it could get out of time would be if the hex shaft is rounding off on one side, if it is made like the 499! I could be wrong, no written guarantees!

If I recall the adjustment is on the right side [if you are standing behind the windrower and looking at it] just above the end of the sickle.Move the sickle so that both sickles are to the center most position. The sickle sections should be right on top of each other. If not move the slide till they do.Curious as to why you think its out of time.
