Day 3 of cutting firewood.

Well, I go up to the woods for about 5-6 hrs each day. At this point I am guessing that I have about half of the firewood logs cut and skidded to 3 of 4 landing sites that I use in the woods. I don't like to make long skids. Takes too much time and the logs pick up a lot of dirt.
I burn between 12 and 14 full cord of wood each heating season.
Weather has been real confortable in the woods with no bugs. Supposed to rain tomarrow afternoon, so I may just pull the splitter and wood elevator out of hibernation and make sure everything is functioning A-OK.

Brendon, I like this time of year. Usually a nice breeze and lots of shade in the woods, and by now the bugs are gone. I haven't even been pestered by a persistant deer fly yet.
Knock on wood--- things are progressing well and I'm not breaking a sweat.

Yeah no kidding! With our lack of rain for 2 1/2 months, there wasn't a skeeto in sight. Now, with the nice heavy rains we have had in the last couple weeks, them things come out of the woodwork in the evening or in the woods!
