I just change the clutch in the tractor and got everything back together. I thought i heard something fall as i removed the pto drive shaft once, i got it going and i moved the tractor but my pto wont engaged and it fills like the brake is on. i tried to move it but wont budge when tractor on. can move it when off

Any ideas?
Can i just take the pto housing area off to look in the tranmission side?

(quoted from post at 18:35:39 08/17/16) Do the hydraulics work? Remember the PTO is a hydraulic clutch? How about the steering and the 3 point?

I moved it of the cement pad to a different spot and seemed the steering had no issues, I'll check the 3 point hitch, I woundering if something came loose from the hydraulic clutch trying to take the pro drive shaft out, I kept puling hard like a spring was being engaged, did that a few times, so I thought that were the shaft just came to , I started to lift the engine but didn't seem right so I put it back down, bent the pto shaft where the hydraulic shift and transmission go together, though the pto drive came right out this time with like one little turn, was able to put it back in and out with no problem but one time I heard something fall, could I of hit a clip or something? but the pto I took the plug out and the pto shaft for sure is turning, new pto drive. It seem like the pto brake engages when started but does want to release, till engine is turned off

Have you unhooked the oil line to the PTO valve? You will need to cap the unhooked line and see if the PTO brake releases?

i have unhooked the pto supply line from the valve. the PTO brake doesn't engage and it stays in neutral as it does when tractor is not running. What does that mean. Is it a valve issue? or could it be something else?

thanks for the help took the PTO housing off and found out that my Pto clutch driver came off, the bearing inside was in peices. so replaced and
replaced clutch disks, just got to put oil back in and hope all works out.
