1818 Case skid steer

I have to repower this machine. Has anyone ever done one of these and if so what engine did you use? It now has a 2 cyl.Onan in it that is bad.

I put a Kohler command 24 hp in mine. Made a MACHINE out of it. No more lugging while turning or lifting. If my memory is right All I needed to do was fab a 1.5 inch spacer to lift the engine up to the crankshaft height of the Onan. The bolt pattern was the same, and PTO size worked also. Exhaust needed to be built, but I used NPT pipe. I used the original throttle and choke cables. Very easy fit. I could text you pictures if this would help. Al 231/757/0064

I've repowered quite a few Ditch Witch cable plows over the years using a 24 hp Honda. As the other reply stated, the only thing I ever had to do to actually mount the engine was put it on a riser to get the centerline of the drive shaft to the same height as the Onan.

Beyond that you'd just have to deal with a muffler, routing the exhaust, and what ever wiring changes were necessary for the new engines.
