Just bought a 4020 Lp and don't know much about them I have read too start on vapor and turn to liquid after engine warned up my question is which valve is for vapor setting in the seat is it on the left or right I can't find any markings saying which is what ordered a book just haven't got it yet and would like to play with it now thanks for helping

The early 3020 operator's manual (OM-R34406R) shows the vapor withdrawal valve on the right side of the steering column and the liquid withdrawal valve to the left side.

vapor on right-always turn fuel off and never use choke--it is best to start at a idle with hyd kicked out

When I had my bored and stroked 720 puller I always started and ran on vapor until I got ready to pull then I opened both valves.

I too bought a 4020 LP not knowing much about them.

The first thing I didn't know was that those little holes on the side of the cylinders are "weep holes" and are designed to tell you when your "wet
sleeve cylinder seals are leaking, only to find out that on my newly purchased $5,000, 25 year old tractor, the PO or his rep, put the black Oring
where the Orange one went and vise versa causing them to prematurely leak. If the drip is water your uppers are leaking, if oil, your lowers are
leaking. $2000 and a lot of work later since the PO had also ruined the compression and bottom end too.........

Second thing I learned was that LP and 100F weather don't like each other.

Third, LP vs Diesel is a waste of fuel dollars.

Fourth thing I learned was sitting behind an LP 400 cu in engine is HOT, especially on a 100 degree day.

Fifth thing I learned was regulators are finicky and getting replacements/parts is not all that easy.

The sixth thing I learned was that the sooner I could run from this thing the happier I would be!

Good luck with your find.
