attention, that is. Read many post on diesel algae but did not absorb it. Now tractor fuel stops up with a black jello like mass. Easy to blow out but this morning when I removed fuel line from filter it was just pushed out with fuel. Does this sound like algae or just dirt and water. Tractor is 08 Kubota with 600 hrs. Careful with refueling and stored in barn.
 
Sounds like algae to me. You don't have to have algae in your tanks, it can sometimes come from your fuel supplier.

Dag nab it ! ! I was hoping for a cheque or money order. Have no idea of the source of your problem, BUT, you would be well advised to put some 'Algiside'(sp) in your fuel tanks - stationary and mobile. HTH
 
will adding algiside dissolve the existing sludge or do i need to drain tank and hope the existing will come out? do i need to change filter? my first experience.
 
I added some biocide to my fuel today, it is available and probably should be used. I also drain a little out of my tank occasionally, if there is any algae it should be in the bottom.
 
i get algicide from rural king,,. been fighting a filth in the fuel tank of the 1070 ever since he limpt on up the driveway ,..comes and goes , a dab of sea foam helps ,,. atf ,,and lucas fuelo stabilizer ,. if the fuel tank were close to empty and I had time to pullit , I think that would cure it once and for all ,,. I have cleaned the valve and put a plastic line about a inch and a half tall in hopes of getting above the crud,, bur I still occassionaly have a problem ,. the 1070 is the only diesel i am having any trouble with,.
 
Less than a quarter, hoping to drain tank and see if a lot of it will come out. Pulling tank is difficult and possibly more than I can handle.
 
Black Pete I have had simular trouble and my cure was to drain tank and flush with gasoline , then I used fuel treatment in my tank afterwords to keep it from returning .
