I learned something

I searched the net for some stretches or exercises for this strained muscle thing I've got going on. I found a sports medicine site that described it as a strained adductor muscle. It's a muscle that attaches below the knee, goes up and over between the legs and back down to attach below the other knee. They warned not to try any of the stretches for the first 72 hours after the injury.

The wife went to town shortly after we read that site and ran in to the next door neighbor. She's a nurse too. The wife was telling her what was going on with me and the neighbor started to describe the symptoms before the wife could say anything. Their youngest son had the same thing happen to him while he was playing high school football. She said he couldn't walk either, they had to carry him around. She said they took him to a chiropractor. She said he got right down between his legs and ground his fist right in to the muscle and worked him so hard they could hear him yelling out in the waiting room. She said that after being carried in to the office,he was able to walk out on his own.

My wife did her continuing education one time on massage therapy and knows all about pressure points and all that. She ground in to me after supper and did it again when I went to bed last night. I didn't have any problems moving around in bed all night or rolling over. I was able to sit on the edge of the bed and lift my feet to get my socks on this morning. The left side kind of tightened up on me after I got up and got moving. I'm still using the walker, but I'm coming around alright. I'm just glad to know that it's not something that's unheard of anyway and that I was right about it taking time to get over it.

This sure wouldn't be a good time to be single or milking cows. Or worse, both.

Thank you. I'm experiencing similar symptoms. I've just about worn out my welcome with the orthopedic doctors, who have done nothing for me. I'll be making an appointment with a chiropracter/massage therapist.

Massage can do wonders along with proper stretching. Ive had neck and back trouble for years. Ive had electric muscle stem from chiropractors and I can peg out their machine at times lol.

I hate to hear about your trouble Randy. I am glad to know you are getting better and its nothing serious. One thing to think about, it probably wouldn't have happened if you had just stayed in Tennessee with us. Good luck , I hope you recover fast. Wish I was closer I would try to help you with the oats. Aging sucks , that said I like the idea of getting old much better than the alternative . I herniated L1-4 a few months ago and I don't think I'm ever gonna be normal again.

Good to hear your feeling a little better. If you were single and milking cows you wouldn't of had time to take that trip last week and wouldn't be in this condition! LOL You might be walking with the walker because of some crazy cow though! Slow and steady it will get better.

You hit the nail on the head. One of those stupid animals would have had me laid up for some other reason. I turned too old to be messing with those critters a long time ago.

That's whut ya git frum drivin them oilallovers fer all this time. They an't egonomicially right ta set on......
