Help with hydraulic question

I would like to build a hydraulic powered 6 or 7ft sickle bar. Any kind of fabrication or machining wont be a problem
but Im no expert on hydraulics. How would I size the hydraulic motor? And the next question is will my IH 484 run it
with 15.4 gpm? Or will I need to run a PTO pump?

You need to get the motor first then decide if your pump is big enough

You could find an old Triumph mower and save yourself a lot of trouble.

Michael,

In what part of the country are you located? I have an old Triumph mower that came out from under an IH 574. It was run by a separate pump (front pump). About a 6 foot cut. It has control valves (lever type) with it. Have always thought about putting it on the front end loader for trimming treelines. Will never get it done.
