WGN on Dish Network

I have DISH Network for TV service and they said over 6 weeks ago that service would end and it did because they could not agree to a contract, but am I the only one out here with no WGN TV ??
 
We do not have local station WHO (NBC) in our area. I called and tried to get another channel to replace it, no luck on that, but I did get a one month discount of $10. Local cable Company package includes a home phone, I don't want that. I am ready to get an antenna and see if that works. We are not that far from the local towers.

We also lost WHO channel 13. Other than Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Rachel Ray, I don't miss channel 13 at all.
 
We are also without Fox network. Hydroplane races in Seattle yesterday, couldn't find them anywhere, I suspect they were on Fox.
 
Reduce their monthly charge? No they didn't. They did add a couple of channels that air oldies and some other halfway decent stuff, though. I have my complaints about DISH network, but one thing you have to give them credit for is that they are pretty hard nosed when it comes to what some channels think they are worth and what the DISH management is going to pay.

If I were to hazard a guess, WGN has some behind the scenes problems. They canceled their contract with the White Sox a year or two ago and this hullabalou with Dish over what Dish was willing to pay indicates to me they are in real financial trouble.
 
Very odd that it's taken this long. Usually when the Dish/Directv/cable takes them off their service, it's only a day or two before the channel capitulates and it's back on the air again.
