John Deere 4030 Hex shaft

I have a 1973 JD 4030 that is taking hex shaft out in less than 20 hrs, how can I solve this problem ?

Your transmission pump is failing, you will need to lift the rockshaft and change it.

Tim's got it right the pump is worn out

Yes, as the pump gear bushings wear out it lets the gear osculate on the shaft and soon takes the edge off the shaft, along with making the transmission pressure lower, this will soon take out your PTO and drive clutch,,yes, things will go from bad to worse...
