my H is down at the moment and I need to do some hay,,a friend offered to let me use a his C,regular not super, but neither one of us are sure it will run my baler,a JD 14T,I think it will seeing the hp is fairly close my H but just kinda want to be sure before trying it with someone elses tractor.

I may do it but likely to be pushing it tot the max and best not try to pull a wagon behind due to the fact you would have way more load in weight then the tractor could ever stop fast. My NEB. test list has a C at 21HP and an H at 26HP

Years ago when we had just an M and Super C. The M would have the cultivator mounted sometimes and the Super C would do baler duty but there was a lot of spinning and pushing with a wagon on behind. It worked ok on flat ground though.

Not sure of the JD14T but my brothers tried baling with a C and a ih 47, they say it was light on front and popped the front of the tractor up on every stroke of the plunger!!

I have successfully run a NH 268 with wagon behind numerous times with a Farmall 200 which is for all practical purposes a Super C. You should be just fine with a C and a 14T. Don't over load your wagon and keep on level ground. If you must bale on hilly ground drop the wagon. No fun when baler and wagon start "wagging the dog," and yes with s tractor that light you will run out of traction. Engine power should be adequate ig you don't push baler. 1st and 2nd gears.

A 14T is very easy to pull on flat ground with no wagon ,
I don't know where you live or if you are pulling a wagon.
If it were me in Louisiana I wouldn't hesitate to use it
even with a wagon , just add front weight or cultivator to
hold it down.

Many Cs were used on a small baler when they were new so it still will run a baler providing you dont have windrows too large remember when that baler was new a single windrow from a mower was the standard those balers need time to work and they arent built to do a huge windrow with several mowers swath in one large windrow.

I have run my old IHC 45 baler with my '44 JD B, pulling a wagon many times on flat ground--no problem. I would think your C would be pretty close, so it should be OK.
