New Holland 456 sickle mower questions

Couple questions during my sickle repair.
Are these rock guards going to work, they are different that the NH ones I took off, the tang on the back cradles the sickle?
The hold down doesn't touch the sickle, smack it with a hammer until it does?
Is the wear plate installed correctly, I have the lip hooked over the bar?
Thanks for your input, I used to be on here everyday but been busy lately.
P.S.
My sons first year of 4H, placed third in his class with his market lamb, really proud of him, barely held back the water works as he left the ring.

Well I can start somewhere. I rebuilt may Gravely last year and here is a photo of her. First, in your picture it looks like the "clip" is way off. I set all of my gaps at 20 thousand. As long as the knife moves freely . Spray it with a little oil first so she will slide easy. Next do your adjustments. I bent my clips in a vice and then used an adjustable wrench to tweeeeek them from there mounted on the bar. There is a sickle mower parts seller out there on the web and he has all kinds of information and how to do it advice too. The knife to guard plate clearance should be like a pair of scissors. I would say your guards should look the same as what you had. Check flea bay. If you dig around there are tons of new old stock stuff for good prices out there. Almost all of the parts I needed I found there.
