Elsewhere on the 'Net, someone commented that his computer was set to not auto-play videos. I wasn't aware that there was an option. My desktop, laptop, and my wife's desktop all auto-play videos all the time. I suspect this may be why our Internet usage is so high, 'cause ads and news items are all moving all the time.

Does anyone know anything about this? I'd sure like to try it if there is, in fact, an option.
 
Honestly I'd just install an ad-blocker extension for whatever web browser you are using. Obviously be a good net user and white-list sites that you want to support and don't have such obnoxious advertising.

Which browser do you use and we can probably give you some examples and information on how to install it.

This MIGHT be what you are looking for.... BUT perhaps someone here can verify that.

As shown in the red box below:
1. Go to Control Panel
2. At the right side of screen... click on View button and use down-arrow to select Large Icons
3. Then click on the button for Auto Play.

The blue box at the bottom, shows you a couple of items you can check OR uncheck regarding autoplay of videos, etc. (KEEP IN MIND that if you uncheck the TOP box... then when you plug in a camera or a flashdrive, it will not "autoplay". You would have to go manually open that device, I assume..... SO IT SEEMS THE BEST CHOICE might be to only do the second option in red... of "Ask me everytime".)

BUT AGAIN, I'D SEE IF ROYSE OR SOMEONE ELSE WHO REALLY KNOWS COMPUTERS SAYS THIS IS THE WAY TO GO. REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN GO BACK IN AND CHANGE THESE SETTINGS BACK TO WHAT IS CURRENTLY SET TO HAPPEN WITH THESE TYPES OF FILES.

I tried unchecking "Auto Play" on my desktop. We'll see how that works.
