Got a bit mature on me, and there is more here than I would have guessed. Smells beautiful. Pictured as I see it from the seat of the swather. 32 acres to cut in this field, so I better get back at it , and check in again tonight. Bruce

I knocked down 60 acres Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday. Raked 25 yesterday morning, baled about 16 or so and got about a quarter of a tenth on an inch or rain. I raked another 16 this morning. Not drying the greatest with the humidity high. I'll let it lay another half hour or so. I'm not going to turn the stuff that was already raked. As light as it was,it'll dry just as fast right where it lays.

Great looking hay to me,,, you are getting far more in your second cutting than I got in my first and only this year,,, glad to see some nice crops
cnt

Shoot, with all the rain this year, just finished the first cutting last week. Waaaaay overmature and weedy as heck.

Although with all the rain should still get a decent second cutting.

And I feel for the guys that aren't getting any rain, we've had a lot more dry years than wet ones like this year.

i hope we get enough rain to get a second crop of hay.
we finished first crop 3 + weeks ago second crop is maybe 6 - 12 inches tall as it is now won't be worth the time to mow.

Hi Bruce! Nice looking second there.

So is the hoop barn for cows or hay storage. I am wrangling with the idea of switching to round bales some day, and would want to keep them inside rather than wrap them all. Neighbor uses an open hoop, I could attach it to the North side of my pole barn and access without going through the pasture...

Hoop barn is equipment storage , and was on this farm when I bought the place in
2010.They are a common site here , and used for everything from equipment , bale
storage ,free stall barns, even the fair grounds has the to hold livestock and a show
ring. I put bales upstairs i the old bank barn with the skid steer. We just run
heifers at this place. Bruce

That's neat. I have never seen one before. Can you cut more hay with it compared to a tractor and disc bine?
