Grease fittings

Would a m4900 Kubota have metric or standard grease fittings? I need to replace a couple on my tractor. I have some 10 mm that are close and some 1/8 pipe plug thread that is close but neither will fit. I am guessing they would be metric but not sure. Thanks , Tommy

My guess is they are British. Look for a 1/8 BPT.

But, being grease fittings, no guarantee they are not metric bolt thread. Just have to keep trying until you find a match or make some calls to the dealer.

All I have seen are metric. I have not seen them on a Kubota but there are a lot out there are pressed in with no threads.

Not British standard metric if threaded but there are also press in ones. NOTE if you have a loader the loader is US produced and uses SAE fittings but everything on the tractor is from Japan .

Yeah, my experience is some are threaded some are press fit, some straight thread, some tapered, some English, some metric, some 1/4, 5/15, 3/8, some 90 degrees, some 75 degrees, the possibilibites... I'd recommend dealer, just so you can get one or two at least correct, then you'll know what to get next time.

Yeah, the BPT stands for British Parallel Thread - they are straight, not tapered! At least that is what I came up with when I needed some for my Kioti (South Korean). SAE or metric Will NOT Fit! AND the tread count/inch is close, but NOT the same! I think, if memory serves, McMaster-Carr has them but a Google search will turn up others.
