JMS/.MN tornado damage??

Jim,
I see your area had quite a bit of damage from storms Monday night. Hope all is well with you and your family. If you need help with anything, or in any way, please let me know. Email is open.
 
Where was that? Some local flooding a few miles west of me, but no storm damage I'm aware of.
 
Watkins (pop about 800) got hit Monday evening. One 86 yo lady hurt with cracked vertebrae- probably the most devout person in our parish. About 25 houses damaged, several completely gone, many roofs gone. Electrician shop destroyed. Adjacent building had only one hole in the roof. Probably thousands of trees destroyed. Tornado skipped up and down...going up street, skipped over the Catholic church and (under construction) parish center. N and S of that lot, buildings damaged, 100 year old trees down.

Tombstones upended in cemetery, half block from church. Roof damage at new assisted living center. Large tanks overturned at fert plant. Started in field half mile south of town, ended about 5 miles north of town. We"re 4 miles SW, no damage, but a week ago we had 90-1000 mph wind, and it blew a 50 foot auger over at the wet bin, barn shingles torn off, couple trees down.

So much already cleaned up in town, with hundreds of volunteers. Second tornado I"ve been in. I was in town when it happened.
 
Umm- wind was 90-100! Local Farmers State Bank is taking funds for "Watkins Tornado Relief". Good support from some St. Cloud firms for food and supplies. Now they"re just asking for funds- so many displaced people with no personal items, clothing, etc.
 
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear there were no deaths, and hopefully the injured lady from your church will heal quickly. One just never knows what Mother Nature has in store. We ended up with just over 11" of rain out of that same storm system. Lots of flooding, but the water will eventually go away.
