6 volt cables

I get mine from the local JD dealer. I think the cables are part of his hydraulic hose line so any farm equipment dealer that makes hoses may be able to help you. May need to do some checking around as I don't think they all do this.

Just saw them at Tractor supply last sat. several lengths. I am going to measure my 8n and get one.
 
Also go to a good welding supply place. Good fine wire heavy cables. They have fittings and all.
 
What jeffcat siad. Better selection of wire and they might have some short pieces left over for a better price
 
On my 8N I moved the ground connection down to the frame, not the battery box. Put mine on one of the bolts on left side of steering gear.
 
I just use automotive cable on my 8N and have for years. I know some say you need big heavy cables, which are fine of course, but if everything is in good working order, clean connections, good battery, starter, and I have found the connection between starter and block clean, the smaller cables work just fine. Mine starts with 6 volt battery down to below zero, but only after I made sure everything else was in shape. It really does not take much to turn those little gas engines over. (I usually get flack over this, but works for me, and each to his own).
 
There's a Battery Warehouse near me that makes up whatever you want in battery cables. The fittings are crimped on. Might be a battery place near you that does that.
 
I make my own and most of the neighbors. I use crimp connectors and I keep 1 ga. and 2/0 welding cable. I use tin coated copper ends.
 
I would suggest finding a different auto parts store. If they don't know about battery cables, I shudder to think what else they may not know about.
 
Aren't you in Campbell Co.,Ky? I would bet NAPA in Queensgate,Cincinnati,on the corner of Gest St, and Freeman would have what you need.Call them first tho.Mark
