Haybine Bearing Removal

Hey Guys,
I have a New Holland 479 Haybine that has quite a bit of slop in the gearbox at the end of the PTO shaft.
We bought the new parts, removed the PTO shaft from the splined shaft, the cover and seal to the gearbox, the crown nut at the end of the splined shaft, the splined shaft and the outside oil seal. When that all came out, the outside bearing, of the two, came out but not the bearing race.
So, inside the cast housing, we have the race for the outside bearing, the spacer and the inside bearing. Both bearing are identical.
The bearing race is stuck which has left the spacer and inner bearing trapped inside. Also inside is the gear itself.

How do I get the bearing race out? Is there a specific tool or method that works for anyone? Do I need to remove the gear from inside? To drive the bearing, spacer and race out or can I pull from the outside? In order to do that is removal of the other shaft the only way? That seems like a huge undertaking.

Any tips would help.

I apologize in advance if pics are upside down.

Is this better? My dad and I used a stick welder to remove a real "B" of a stuck race. Just take care while doing it. Weld across it and actually cut through or weld a little about 180* and pry it out. It will weaken the race enough.

The other gear and shaft will need to come out first, then the gear/bearing assembly will lift out.

The bearing races are light press fit in the housing. The outer race comes out the outside, the inner race comes out the inside. Use a punch to get the inner one out, may have to use a slide hammer for the outer one. Bring them out straight as possible so not to stress the housing. Just like replacing bearings in a wheel hub.

I've used a small rotary file in a die grinder to cut a groove across/through the race, comes out fairly easily after that

Looks like you caught it in time.
A looooooooooong time ago I did one for the neighbor he ran it so long with bad bearings his housing needed replaced !

Like Jeffcoat says, weld a bead on the race. If you get to that point. It'll shrink the race enough usually to almost fall out.
