East central MN, 10.1" of rain today, and still coming down. Major flooding happening. I doubt anyone around here will be able to get in the fields for at least three or four weeks. Had a storm like this back in 2002, and I started the rest of my first crop of hay the first week of September. A miserable experience, but things could always be worse.

WE didn't get hit that hard but still have got a lot of rain over the last 3 days that we desperately needed. I think we are about 6" sense Sat night. Still raining here off and on right now. The lake my MIL lives on like the rest in the area was way down below normal. The level as of 4:30 this afternoon has risen about 8" with runoff and all. The lake is a little over 5500 acres. That's a lot of water to raise that 8".

One year ago today we got 7" over night, put the week total to 12". We have been fairly dry this year but got around 2" last week.

The storms sucked up so much energy in your area, that it pulled them away from us. Iowa got some rain, there was a gap over us in southern MN no rain along the front. It all got pulled up to you and dumped there. Sorry to see all the mess up there, all the rivers rising now.

Parts of Stearns had 5", Morrison 7" over the last 2 days. Meeker and Stearns got busted up a little by the twisters. Have not heard if there were any fatalities. It's windy today as that always seems to follow an event. It makes it hard for the folks cleaning up. By Saturday the dust clouds will be following the UPS truck again.

That's a TON of rain. I had .18". The closest town to me had .75 and a town 15 miles away had 1.5. In my neighborhood in NWIA we aren't terribly dry but we aren't wet by any means. I've been pulling some weeds in the beans and the root balls are damp so we have enough moisture for the present time.

As far as haying goes, I have a serious baler problem to address before I can bale again. The grandkids tell me there is a new litter of kittens in the loose hay in the pickup part of the baler. Relocation is an option though.
