How To Remove A Stirrator?

I am getting ready to start moving some grain bins I had basically given to me. One of the bins is a 24 foot Butler and it has a 2 auger stirrator in it. My question is how do I go about getting the stirrator down. Do I have to take it down before I start disassembling the bin (and if so, how do I go about that?) or do I just take the augers off and lower the assembly down with the rest of the bin and remove it when I get the last ring sitting on the ground?

I would say the latter, as that's the opposite of how we built mine. - Installed as much of the stirrer as we could, then installed the augers after the bin was up.

Take the augers off and take the bin down to the last ring. Remove the roof and then take apart the stirrator.

There are bin jacks available to bolt to the sides of the bins and jack them up high enough to add rings to the bottom or high enough to just back a trailer under them to haul the bin to the next location. My brother had a set of those, but he gave them to our nephew when he retired. Check around, someone is probably still making them or you might luck out and find a used set that someone doesn't need anymore.

Don't know about the stirrer; maybe it an be left in place for the move if you don't have to go under any electric wire - don't want anyone to get electrocuted.

I have helped move a couple bins with them and you have it right. Remove the augers and start removing rings, when it's down to comfortable working height you remove the roof and the rest of the stirrator.

You need to remove the stirator before removing the roof as the stirator hangs from the center ring. Get two come alongs put a bar across the center hole and manhole to hang the come alongs from. Clamp the bar across the manhole close to the top so you can operate the come along. And as said remove the augers first off. If it has power let it run with the augers off till it gets to the man hole other wise you will have to push it there. Some brands have a bar on the carriage under the track so it can't jump off the track. What color is it red, gray/blue or green. I have all the books on DMC, NECO and SUKUP.
