how often do you change hyraosat fluid and what fluid do u use thank you

If so, fluid info is on Page 5.

As too how often, are you having trouble with the transaxle... that's usually when guys decide to change it.

If you are to the point of having to change it due to lack of performance it is too late. The hydrostatic unit made by Tuff Torq (K46) was not designed to change the fluid. It is listed as "maintenance free" which means somebody saved a nickel by not having a drain plug added to the unit.

Several years ago people were buying K66 units as replacements, which are used in the larger garden tractors. You had to change several other parts (Half sheave pulley, new drive belt, transmission pulley & fan, wheels, sleeve hitch link, etc.). But after a few hours work you have a much stronger mower.

I did this replacement in 2009 and the mower is still going strong. And I now have a mower I can change the fluid in. At the time I did mine I bought the K66 unit online from a wholesaler for a couple hundred bucks and all the other parts from Deere for about $300. Much better that the $1,100.00 Deere wanted for a K66, and bout the same price as the original unit from the wholesaler.
