ford 600 three point hitch issue

I'm having trouble with the three point hitch on my ford 650. the blade wont lift until I drive the tractor around first. then I can reattach the blade and all is well. Checked the hydraulic fluid and the levels look good. Where do I start?

Best place to start is the Ford tractor page right here on the YT forums. They can tell you where to hook up a gauge to check pump pressure and things like that. It almost sounds like something is floating around in the sump and blocking the suction side to the pump.
