My first wheat harvest (pics)

First attempt at growing wheat. I won't know the yield until Tuesday when everything opens back up. Not as impressive as most operations, but I started with nothing but debt 3 years ago.

One of my high school helpers putting in a little seat time on the John Deere 720 diesel pulling a 9' JD Van Brunt drill.

A friend took this picture from his work next to the field. Planted first week of October.

John Deere 4440 pulling my wanna-be grain carts. Thanks to TimS, this tractor got a workout this spring after a winter-long rebuild.

My Gleaner M doing the work this weekend.

Great Pictures. I love the one were the man is riding on the wheat drill.. Thanks for sharing!!

I do too. There were 4 boys riding on the step board. I'm a high school teacher and a lot of the boys will come out to help and hopefully learn and have fun.

John 37A,

All great photos... but especially love the one of the Gleaner with the flag in the field. Nice!

I see wheat hung up on the sickle, did you bolt it up for cutting wheat? There is a spot underneath
where you can bolt up the floating bar for cutting above the ground like you are. Will cut much better
if you do that.

I did not. I wasn't aware that it would bolt up. I'm finished cutting now, but will definitely check that out for next time. I had to cut a little lower than I wanted to.
