All done tuning MH44 EFI

I ran the last tune and unhooked the dyno today. I have to give a big round of thanks to JD Seller for loaning theme the dyno I realize the tune is not perfect, but it runs really good and the AFR reading comes out where I want it for all the load ranges. I could probably tweak the timing some, but time to move on. I never did get the port injection done, will probably not do it.

I have learned tons on this project.

The software allows you to select 16x16 or 12x12 tables, I ended up using all 12x12 tables in the end, this cut my tuning time in half and I cannot see any difference. I just came onto this yesterday.

I did end up making the cranking mixture richer all the way across the board, it pops off much quicker now.

David are you up for a real challenge??? I have a JD 4020 gas that does not run correctly. That thing could keep you busy for a eyar or two. LOL

Glad you got the MH EFI going.

Way cool. I am glad you put the effort into this project. At SCSU the senior design mechanical engineering students are building a SAE formula race car. It is restricted to 20mm intake passage to atmosphere. The engine is a 450cc 2 cylinder and the entire control circuit system is monitored pulse length modulated digital. Sensrs are analog with AD converters. This will be its second reconfiguration. (I drove it last summer and it was radical (with the restrictor out) it can corner with about 1.15Gs. Nice fat Hoosier slicks on 4 corners. There will be a lot of analysis to get it dialed in. Jim

I would not get ahead of yourself. Lets see the data on HP for a stock machine and then this one. So far I have not read any figures.

There was an article in Green Magazine approx a year ago regarding a port injected 4020. The results were positive .

Does the 4020 gasser have intake and exhaust manifolds on the same side?

If so, it is not a true port injection, must be siamese where ports are shared.

The Waterloo is not a cross flow head but what does it matter? It didn't bother the folks that retrofitted the 4020 for the GM arcticle.
