I posted a couple weeks ago about the stuck motor in my crawler. Well I took the advice of some and decided I better not pull it. I removed the head. Water had leaked into # 4 piston. Since it isn't my work tractor. I am not in a hurry to take it apart. I work a hour or so now and then. Pulled the rusted piston today. seams it's all I can do on my back in one day. Stan

I did pretty much the same thing on my HD6 project. I got it freed up the other day and today I pulled the pan and all 4 pistons. No ridge in the cylinders. Main bearings look excellent. Shame it got rained in. Should clean up ok.

Good for you Stan.I am nearly your age and hessitate to take anything apart any more. Those Model M's were sure good tractors. I don't think they are appreciated by those who have not run one. I have one with a couple of burned valves. Don't suppose I'll ever get around to fixing it.

Tom, get out there and do a little every now and then. You don't have to work at it all day. You will need some help removing the head. those things are real heavy. Stan
