Old, it's a Craftsman DR clone. You sent me a chainsaw blade and it didn't work. If you need it, I'll ship it back. The string trimmer was another thing I wished I hadn't bought. Good thing it was used and I didn't pay full price. I replaced the engine with an old 3.5 hp briggs, with cast iron flywheel. Only running it at a fast idle and works great. Twice I got into something that killed the engine. Something has to give or something will break, so engine stopping is great.
Again, it works great for what I want to do. geo

I'm using a 33 inch snapper deck with a 30 inch Oregon blade. It is made stronger than the 2 ft Oregon blades on my woods RM660. I have used the 30 inch blade on my vertical trimmer that can cut 1 inch tree branches for years. Unlike most mower blades this one will not bend. Pic of the business end of the vertical mower. It's the same design, slow moving 30 inch Oregon blade and 33 inch snapper deck. Deck isn't made out of barn siding, it much stronger than most. geo.

I still have one of those DR string trimmers which form the get go was apiece of junk and not worth the $$ my dad spent for it. I also have a Yardman string trimmer and it is also pretty much junk but I did not pay a dime for it and use it as it is. The places that the string goes on have broken off so I rigged up a way to hold that works for what I need it to

Well the engine, idler pulley, and frame works well for my brush hog. It is far better than anything I've tried. Engine runs at a fast idle. Guessing blade is turning at 300 rpm. Cuts tallwweeds and honeysuckle starts. Very happy with it. Way better than string trimmer. George
