very loud this is the loudest they have been in a week, hope they will be gone soon, remindes me of a Alfred Hichcock movie.used the live ones for fishing this am and caught 20 blue-gill and 4-5 bass that was fun . now they can leave. millions of shells left behind

Not a single one at the house but I've been past patches of them while on the road loud enough to hear over the diesel.

Extremely loud here in s.w.Pa. Probably a couple hundred (or thousand) around every tree trunk. But let them sing. If I were holed up under ground for 17 years without sax I'd more than sing. Sad thing is I'll likely only be around to here them one more time.

They aren't too loud here this year. About 5 years ago they had their big hatch. I believe it's every 17 years or maybe 7 years?? That year the singing was deafening and is was constant 24 hours a day. It drove people nuts.
