I'm looking at purchasing this tractor. It will be my first 4x4 tractor. I'm currently busing a 2wd MF50 (1959 purchase). Any and all comments are welcome. I'm on a 40 acre farm that's steep and bumpy in every direction. Wanting it to mow with a sickle and brush hog, carry a round bale on a spear, and make me feel safer than I do on this '59. I'm no dare devil and will not put myself in harms way at all cost. Does this MF have engine brake like my 50 does now? Any thoughts or opinions on this model of MF.......

That MF 1533 is a compact utility tractor not a farm tractor. The one thing I see that might be an issue is carrying a round bale. If your willing to use a three point spear then that tractor would work with bales in the 1000-1200 LBS range. Your not going to be able to carry them with the loader very well on hilly ground. Also the MF 1533 is 33 GROSS engine horse power an about 24 PTO HP. Your MF 50 has 38 PTO HP and is more than likely 2000 heavier than the MF 1533.

You need to look at the three point hitch too. Many compacts do not have room enough behind the tires for a mounted sickle bar mower to work correctly.

Personally I would not go backwards in size on a hilly land. The Compact utility tractors have there place but it is not on hill ground.
