Might be Lost

It may be hard to see but that is a Canadian goose sitting in my pond.
Do not know of any neighbors that own any so he must be wild.
Think he might be lost to still be this far south in June.

They stay in St Cloud MN all year now. There is no telling where they will call home. 50 of them is an issue. Jim

Tell me about it. I've got three pair with about ten little ones each in the pond in the pasture across the road. When I was planting corn yesterday, there was three more pair with little ones in a yard along the field where I was planting. That corn is toast,I can guarantee that before it even comes up.

Great Falls, MT is overrun with them all year long. Just yesterday several vehicles had to wait on a large flock with goslings to cross the road from a park to the Missouri River.

How do you know it was Canadian? Was it very polite and rooting for the Toronto Maple Leafs? LOL. They are actually called Canada Goose, and are a protected National bird here.....but they continue to crap over everything.. Ben

In N Illinois in the 50s it was a big deal to see those huge V formations high in the sky and if you were lucky you might see a dozen on the neighbors pond once in a while, now they're everywhere. Same with deer, my brother said my dad seen his first deer I think was in the early or mid 40s, now they're as common as sparrows.

We used to have thousands come in here to the refuge in early fall. Now we just have a full time flock stay around and very few of the migrating on come any more.
